Sister Mary Veronica Brutosky died on January 21, 2023 in Los Angeles. She was born in Connellsville, Pennsylvania.
Sister Anne Bernadette Stead, CSJ died December 15, 2022, at Carondelet Center in Los Angeles. Born in San Diego, Elizabeth Jane Stead came from a family with eight children.
Margaret “Peggy” Murray, CSJ died peacefully on December 15, 2022, at St. John of God Care Center in Los Angeles, California.
Sister Anne Gertrude Fitzgerald, CSJ died peacefully on Sunday, November 20, 2022, at St. John of God Care Center in Los Angeles. She was 107.
It is with sad hearts that we share that Sister Mary Williams passed over into new life on July 31, 2022 in Santa Monica, California.
Sister Claire Latham passed away on June 19, 2022, at St. John of God Retirement Center in Los Angeles, California.
Sister Mary Rose Boito entered into eternal life on May 25, 2022 in Los Angeles. She was born in San Francisco on April 20, 1933 into an Italian family.
Sister Madeline Marie, known as Miki to her family, entered into eternal life on May 24, 2022 in Tsu, Japan. She was born in Kyoto, Japan on May 4, 1933 and entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet novitiate in the fall of 1961.
The Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet are a congregation of Catholic sisters. We, and those who share our charism and mission, are motivated in all things by our profound love of God and our dear neighbors. We seek to build communities and bridge divides between people. Since our first sisters gathered in 1650, our members have been called to “do all things of which women are capable.” The first sisters of our congregation arrived in St. Louis, Missouri in 1836, and we now have additional locations in St. Paul, Albany, Los Angeles, Hawaii, Japan and Peru. Today, we commit to respond boldly to injustice and dare to be prophetic.
