Sister Elizabeth Anne Malone died Saturday June 3, 2023, at St. John of God Retirement Center in Los Angeles, California.
Sister Elizabeth Anne was born in Los Angeles, California on August 6, 1926. She met the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet as a student at Bishop Conaty High School and entered our community in 1947. During her years of ministry, she served as teacher, principal, superior, registrar, advisor and business educator.
She was missioned to Mount Saint Mary’s University in 1967 and remained there for 43 years. Sister Elizabeth Anne said, “God has been so good to me all this time. I loved working with the girls, faculty and friends. The years have slipped by. It was a joy to walk on those beautiful grounds and enjoy the peace.”
Her greatest quality was her open, loving, hospitable personality. She was a welcome addition to any group and gently invited others into conversation, always adding a touch of humor and kindness. Her ready smile spoke of acceptance of all she encountered.
