Sister Sandra Williams, CSJ

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Sister Sandra Williams, who passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025, in Los Angeles. She was 78 years of age.

Sister Sandra was born in Seattle, and raised in Los Angeles. She entered religious life in 1965. After teaching for 12 years she transitioned into pastoral and administrative roles. In any setting, she was a quiet but powerful presence.

Sister Sandrea was elected to the Los Angeles Province Leadership Team, generously using her many gifts, especially writing and deep knowledge of the history and spirituality and the Sisters of St. Joseph.

She served on the Mount St. Mary’s University-Los Angeles Board for nine years and in the CSJ Institute at the Mount for six years, acquainting educators with our charism. Recently, she was appointed trustee emerita.

Sister Sandra will be remembered as an uncommon woman in uncommon times, having great wisdom, grace and an unwavering commitment to the Sisters of St. Joseph charism of unifying love.

Funeral services for Sister Sandra will be held on Wednesday, August 27 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Chapel at Carondelet Center, 11999 Chalon Rd. in Los Angeles.
