A bold and beautiful symbol of our unity, mission, and shared future

The Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet are excited to introduce our new logo—a shared symbol rooted in the unifying love that calls us together as one congregation.

This bold and hope-filled design reflects who we are today and who we are becoming. It expresses our collective mission, our rich diversity and our commitment to the shared future we are building together.

A Meaningful Design

Every element of the logo was chosen with intention, with a nod to the design elements of our past.

  • Its stained glass motif evokes the rich tapestry of stories that shape our collective memory, offering a sense of light, legacy, and renewal.
  • At the center stands the cross, a timeless sign of faith and service that grounds our mission. The subtle flaring of the cross symbolizes the expansion of our continuing work.
  • The absence of an external border reflects that our mission is not contained but global in nature.

The vibrant colors are drawn from each province’s most recent logos, woven together to form a unified whole — a visible expression of our unity in diversity.

Why a New Logo?

Our previous logos served us well in their time and context. But as we continue to deepen our life as one congregation, we recognized the need for a shared visual identity—one that unites us across provinces and expresses who we are together.

This new logo marks a new chapter, honoring our past, embracing the present, and stepping boldly into the future.

A Collaborative Process

This project began at the request of the leaders of our congregation and our four provinces and vice province. The communications staff carried the project forward in the spirit of collaboration.

We started by gathering input from leadership across all provinces, then invited the entire congregation to share their insights through a survey. We shared all of that wisdom with our design partners at Blustery Day Design, who brought it to life with creativity and care.

At every step, sisters, communicators and leaders helped shape a visual identity that reflects our spirit and our mission.

Variations

This new logo better reflects our unity as one congregation, with one common symbol and variations for our languages and provinces.

Unifying love. Unifying logo.

Let this logo remind us: we are many, yet we are one — boldly rooted in mission, united in love, and inspired by the colorful threads of our collective heritage.

I love it! With the cross as its center surrounded by various colors to honor our diversity! Thank you! Pat Gibson

  2. Lovely logo! Well done.

Where can we find high resolution versions and SVG or PDF “vector” versions to incorporate into other websites, newsletters, and the like? Is there a “logo” page on the website we can go to for these assets?

It is lovely, as a piece of art…
The rationale for the design is very meaningful…
I was hoping there would be something to identify us as CSJs

Would love to wear our logo as a pin or on a chain. That would truly signify our unifying love as a Congregation.

As a former member of the congregation, I am continually awed and inspired by the growth and dedication of this community. My years in the community continue to be a grounding and anchoring dimension in my life. I love the new logo.

About us

The Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet are a congregation of Catholic sisters. We, and those who share our charism and mission, are motivated in all things by our profound love of God and our dear neighbors. We seek to build communities and bridge divides between people. Since our first sisters gathered in 1650, our members have been called to “do all things of which women are capable.” The first sisters of our congregation arrived in St. Louis, Missouri in 1836, and we now have additional locations in St. Paul, Albany, Los Angeles, Hawaii, Japan and Peru. Today, we commit to respond boldly to injustice and dare to be prophetic.
