Spiritual directors are your companion on your spiritual journey. The director doesn’t provide answers but listens to you and helps you tap into your wisdom within. Spiritual direction or spiritual companionship helps you learn how God is moving in your life and helps you develop your relationship with the Divine.
Through monthly spiritual direction sessions lasting 50-60 minutes, directors create a safe, confidential and nonjudgmental space for you to share your heart.
Spiritual direction may be for you if you are…
- Wanting to deepen your personal relationship with God.
- Seeking to expand your prayer life.
- Feeling stuck in your spiritual life.
- Listening for the Spirit in your daily life.
- Looking for help discerning a decision.

Darlene Kawulok, CSJ
Virtual / Los Angeles, California
“I stress that in your spiritual journey, God walks with you. I am a companion. Your journey in life, as Thomas Merton reflects, ‘… is interior: it’s a matter of growth, deepening, and of an even greater surrender to the creative action of love and grace in our hearts.’ I look forward to sharing with you in the near future your thoughts about the above assumptions I have on spiritual direction.”
Mary Lamski, CSJ
St. Paul, Minnesota
“I was in elementary education, hospital chaplaincy, parish and campus ministry, and also have been doing spiritual direction for over 45 years for people who are active in a faith community or prefer not to. Spiritual direction includes anything which impacts your spiritual life: your prayer and faith life, spiritual values, life situations, relationships, discernment in decision making. I do spiritual direction usually in person, but also by phone or email if preferred due to distance factors.”
