SEEK 2025 Conference

Joann Heinritz speaking to participants at the 2025 SEEK Conference

The Spirit was very present at the SEEK 2025 Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah, which Joann Heinritz and I attended at the beginning of January. The whole experience was very powerful for us. The young seekers were amazing!

We asked the participants who spoke with us what words they felt described their experience at the conference. People. Adoration. Simplicity. Endurance. Providence. Energy. Blessing. These words are actual words we heard from the young adults participating in this year’s SEEK Conference.

Word cloud from the participants of the SEEK 2025 Conference

We had lots of “swag” to pass out to participants, but the one thing that they gravitated toward were the eco cards with wildflower seeds embedded in them. The young people were completely taken by them. These wildflower seed cards allowed the Spirit to speak to them through us, sharing the message that there is a seed planted in each one of them.

We encouraged them to plant the card and—when it blossomed—to ask God to help them discern what seed God had planted in them. Some of them are already following their “seed” in their choice of majors: education, nursing, social work, psychology. These were young people with service in their futures!

We ask you to join us in praying for all those young people “seeking” God’s will in their lives. The harvest is rich indeed!

About us

The Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet are a congregation of Catholic sisters. We, and those who share our charism and mission, are motivated in all things by our profound love of God and our dear neighbors. We seek to build communities and bridge divides between people. Since our first sisters gathered in 1650, our members have been called to “do all things of which women are capable.” The first sisters of our congregation arrived in St. Louis, Missouri in 1836, and we now have additional locations in St. Paul, Albany, Los Angeles, Hawaii, Japan and Peru. Today, we commit to respond boldly to injustice and dare to be prophetic.
