Join our sisters in advocating for a just Farm Bill

Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet

A large tractor cuts a wide path through a field of golden crops. The late afternoon sun casts long shadows.

In September, the U.S. Congress will vote on one of its most comprehensive and important pieces of legislation. The Farm Bill regulates support for American farmers, but it also controls national and international support for vital food programs that serve poor and marginalized people.

The Farm Bill touches on our congregation’s justice priorities, as it addresses ecological sustainability and the growing income gap that leaves so many vulnerable people experiencing food insecurity in the United States and around the globe.

We invite you to join us in advocating to ensure the smooth passage of this bill. Together, we can make a just Farm Bill a reality and help to feed vulnerable families here at home and around the world.

About us

The Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet are a congregation of Catholic sisters. We, and those who share our charism and mission, are motivated in all things by our profound love of God and our dear neighbors. We seek to build communities and bridge divides between people. Since our first sisters gathered in 1650, our members have been called to “do all things of which women are capable.” The first sisters of our congregation arrived in St. Louis, Missouri in 1836, and we now have additional locations in St. Paul, Albany, Los Angeles, Hawaii, Japan and Peru. Today, we commit to respond boldly to injustice and dare to be prophetic.
