“What the Bible really says about homosexuality”

March 25, 2023 at 2:00 pm 4:00 pm CDT

Free donations welcome

In the past 200 years, we have learned more about sex and sexuality, by far, than in preceding millennia. How do these understandings inform our interpretations of ancient scriptures?

Guest speaker Daniel A. Helminiak, a theologian and author of What Does the Bible Really Say About Homosexuality, presents his research from renowned Biblical scholars that offers us a contemporary and compassionate teaching on homosexuality—a liberating experience for people of faith.

This event is being hosted by our St. Louis Province as part of their Gospel call to serve the marginalized in society with love and dignity. They commit to accompanying people in the LGBTQIA+ communities on their journey to live with authenticity and integrity.

The same presentation is also being offered on Friday, March 24 and Sunday, March 26 from 2-4 p.m.

About us

The Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet are a congregation of Catholic sisters. We, and those who share our charism and mission, are motivated in all things by our profound love of God and our dear neighbors. We seek to build communities and bridge divides between people. Since our first sisters gathered in 1650, our members have been called to “do all things of which women are capable.” The first sisters of our congregation arrived in St. Louis, Missouri in 1836, and we now have additional locations in St. Paul, Albany, Los Angeles, Hawaii, Japan and Peru. Today, we commit to respond boldly to injustice and dare to be prophetic.
