Synod Listening Session

April 7, 2022 at 2:00 pm 3:45 pm EDT

Free
Synod 2021-2023: For a synodal church

Are you ready to participate in the Synod on Synodality? The U.S. Federation of Sisters of St. Joseph will provide space for anyone who is a part of the Federation—associates, alums of CSSJ schools, members of the St. Joseph Worker community, sisters and beyond—to gather, pray and share in conversation. The Federation will hold virtual listening sessions to engage in this global consultation. Their basic question is: “What is the Holy Spirit saying to our Church today?”

Pope Francis has called us together—the people of God throughout the world—to share our lived experiences and listen to others.

Listening sessions

Format

Each listening session will begin with Scripture and prayer; then will break into small groups for listening, sharing, and discerning.

The key questions are:

  1. What have been the joys and obstacles in your journeying together with the family of Joseph (as a sister, agrégée, associate/consociate, employee, partner in mission or St. Joseph Worker)? Please share a brief story that illustrates your experience.
  2. Considering our charism’s call to love God and dear neighbor without distinction, how is the Spirit inviting you to act at this time in history?

Register

There are three 90-minute virtual listening sessions. Participants are asked to register for only one session. More details are forthcoming; reserve your seat today.

About us

The Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet are a congregation of Catholic sisters. We, and those who share our charism and mission, are motivated in all things by our profound love of God and our dear neighbors. We seek to build communities and bridge divides between people. Since our first sisters gathered in 1650, our members have been called to “do all things of which women are capable.” The first sisters of our congregation arrived in St. Louis, Missouri in 1836, and we now have additional locations in St. Paul, Albany, Los Angeles, Hawaii, Japan and Peru. Today, we commit to respond boldly to injustice and dare to be prophetic.
