Interculturality workshop 1

January 27, 2023 at 7:30 pm 9:00 pm EST

$10 per workshop; Free for Federation members

Building off their 2022 theme of “Radically Transforming Community,” the U.S. Federation of Sisters of St. Joseph brings a three-part series presented by Sr. Griselda Martínez Morales, CSJ. Multiculturalism is an expression of differences and diversities; colors, sounds, movements, cultures, religious expression, words, flavors, geographies, etc. Integrating such diversities into “sacred dances,” “Trinitarian dances,” is the heart of our spirituality and charism.

For the CSSJ Federation and its members, this is an urgent task to identify and learn the skills, virtues and availabilities necessary to live in intercultural communities; with the challenge that this represents for each of us. Communitarianity (Trinitarian relationality) is the challenge of the Gospel that demands conversion, transformation and evolution for all disciples, especially in those institutions that belong to societies of cultures strongly centered on the ego and based on individual rights.

Workshop Information

The three workshops will each focus on different topics of interculturality. Though the workshops will build on one another, you can attend ones in the future if you didn’t go to the others. All are welcome to join. You must register for each workshop in order to receive the Zoom link. The workshops are free to paid members and sisters of the U.S. Federation and are $10/workshop for non-members. You can also purchase all three workshops for the discounted price of $25.

Want to receive the discount but you’re not yet a paid member? Register for the Federation Membership program, and they will send you the discount code after receiving your membership. Membership is $50/year for individuals, $75 for families and $100-$250 for institutions. The Federation is already planning more programs for 2023 that will feature free or discounted registration for our paid members.

About us

The Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet are a congregation of Catholic sisters. We, and those who share our charism and mission, are motivated in all things by our profound love of God and our dear neighbors. We seek to build communities and bridge divides between people. Since our first sisters gathered in 1650, our members have been called to “do all things of which women are capable.” The first sisters of our congregation arrived in St. Louis, Missouri in 1836, and we now have additional locations in St. Paul, Albany, Los Angeles, Hawaii, Japan and Peru. Today, we commit to respond boldly to injustice and dare to be prophetic.
