Barbara Jennings, CSJ stands in front of a brick wall

Sister Barbara Jennings, CSJ to speak as part of Franciscans for Earth speaker series

Do your investments really make a difference? For the Earth? For human rights? Corporate lobbying expenses? Recent studies on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) issues show definite impacts on corporations, their bottom line and investor bottom line.

This discussion will not only focus on the moral impact of your investments but also on how you are saving money in the short and long term. You will learn why most investor services are now offering ESG choices and how you and future generations will benefit. We will see why ESG is here to stay and how you can make a difference.

Sister Barbara Jennings, CSJ represents our St. Louis Province with the Seventh Generation Interfaith Coalition for Responsible Investment. Sister Barbara has ministered at an inner-city parish, the Catholic Worker House, and in the Social Justice Office for the Diocese of Kansas City, Missouri. Barbara ministered at Midwest Coalition for Responsible Investment (MCRI, now a part of Seventh Generation Interfaith Coalition) from 2007-2019, monitoring the shareholder activity of MCRI members in various companies such as American Outdoor Brands (Smith & Wesson), Boeing, Chevron, Conoco Phillips, Emerson, Monsanto, etc. She has served as Lead on Ameren, Boeing and Monsanto.

About us

The Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet are a congregation of Catholic sisters. We, and those who share our charism and mission, are motivated in all things by our profound love of God and our dear neighbors. We seek to build communities and bridge divides between people. Since our first sisters gathered in 1650, our members have been called to “do all things of which women are capable.” The first sisters of our congregation arrived in St. Louis, Missouri in 1836, and we now have additional locations in St. Paul, Albany, Los Angeles, Hawaii, Japan and Peru. Today, we commit to respond boldly to injustice and dare to be prophetic.
